Tax filing UX has a hard constraint most consumer apps don't: the underlying subject matter (Indian tax law) cannot be simplified away, only organised better. The same constraint shaped NetBramha's approach to TransUnion CIBIL's credit score interface, where the number on screen is only useful if the user also understands what's driving it.
A mistake in a tax filing interface doesn't just create a bad user experience - it can lead to an incorrect filing with real financial and legal consequences. That raises the bar for clarity well above a typical consumer app.
